WHAT ARHP PROMISES TO YOU

ARHP is a leading authority on sexual and reproductive health and rights in the United States and worldwide. ARHP has created and maintains this website as a service to the clinical community we serve as a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization. While some of the information on this site is about medical issues, it is not medical advice and should not be construed as such. ARHP makes no warranty or guarantee concerning the accuracy or current relevance of the content. ARHP encourages all visitors to the ARHP website to talk with their healthcare providers(s) about medical issues.

The ARHP website and email services have security measures to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of information under our control. All information collected on our server is backed up daily. For visitors to the ARHP website, our server does not automatically recognize or record information from your email domain or address. ARHP does not currently partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.

If you download documents from our website, such as patient resources or research reports, we sometimes are provided information regarding the U.S. state or non-U.S. country from which you accessed the information, and your IP address. We do not receive additional personal identifying information as part of these downloads.

ARHP may collect and review aggregate information about what pages visitors access on our website, along with information volunteered by our members or visitors, such as registration information to our continuing education webinars or other events. ARHP may periodically conduct online surveys during which we ask participants for contact or demographic data. This personal data is used to better understand ARHP’s Internet audience, members and associates, to collect clearly defined information for specific purposes, and to send gift card or other incentives if they are offered in exchange for completion of surveys.

When you opt in to ARHP’s email list, currently administered by Constant Contact, you supply your name, email address, professional title, and place of work. We may use this information to better target future communication from ARHP that we believe will be relevant to you and your professional interests.

If you move, change email addresses, or change employers, and want to continue to receive communications from ARHP, please either update your information through the link at the bottom of any email we send to you, or send your updated information to communications@arhp.org. You may choose to unsubscribe from these email communications from ARHP at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link that appears at the bottom of each email we send to you.

If you are an active, dues-paying ARHP member, we also require that you supply us with a postal mailing address, where we will send print subscriptions of Contraception Journal (if you request to receive the publication in print form), and occasionally, other printed materials from ARHP or allied organizations with which we periodically partner. Members who supply us with their telephone numbers will only receive telephone contact from us regarding your membership, donations or any other orders you place with us online.

Information shared with ARHP via the ARHP website, our other communications platforms (currently Constant Contact, GoToWebinar, Survey Monkey, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) will be regarded as the property of ARHP.

ARHP does not supply your contact or personal information to other organizations. If we partner with an organization that wishes to share with our members information that we think they would find relevant, we handle all dissemination internally, so your contact information is never shared outside of ARHP.

When you’re asked for credit card information through the ARHP website to pay membership dues or to make donations to ARHP, your information is processed via a commercially secure (encrypted) service that substantially minimizes the possibility that your information could be seen by others.

Although we take precautions to ensure that email communication you have with ARHP members, staff or our Board of Directors are private, you should be aware that electronic transmissions of information through the Internet, including email, are not necessarily confidential.

At your request, we will provide you any information we have collected about you, which will usually only include contact and demographic information as detailed above, your membership number, and transaction information (generally, when you joined ARHP, and renewed your membership).

At any time, you may ask us to stop sending you emails messages by clicking the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of any email you receive from us. However, if you opt out of receiving these emails, it will not automatically prompt the deletion of personal data you provided to us when you became a member, renewed your membership, made a charitable donation to ARHP, or registered to attend one of our events, including online continuing education activities. If you want information collected in these situations to be deleted from our database, please send an email to communications@arhp.org.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in this privacy policy. If our information practices change, we will update this policy and notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of digital communication with ARHP. If you have questions or concerns about how your information is being used, please contact communications@arhp.org.
