Clinician II-III - $20K Sign-on Bonus!
Redding and Chico, CA
PPNorCal is currently seeking a full-time Clinician II-III to serve our clients at the Redding and Chico Health Centers. The Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife, and other licensed providers) will function as part of a healthcare team to provide care under the standing orders and medical supervision of the Medical Director in accordance with PPFA and PPNorCal Medical Standards and Guidelines. The Clinician II will report to the Medical Director and Center Director.
This is a non-exempt, full-time position working 40 hours per week (24 hours at Redding Health Center and 16 hours at the Chico Health Center) including evenings as needed. Salary is DOE plus a $20K sign-on bonus! This position offers a benefit package that includes Health Care coverage (Medical, Dental and Vision), ETO & 403B!

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Work in the health center providing culturally competent reproductive health care services, including but not limited to contraceptive care, medication abortion, STD screening, pregnancy and HIV testing, education and counseling in accordance with evidence-based practice protocols.
Utilize knowledge of and experience in client care to:
Assure complete and accurate medical documentation.
Act as a medical resource for health center staff.
Participate in health center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity.
Participate in health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals.
- Obtain a basic health history and comprehensive gynecological (GYN) history.
- Perform a general physical exam, gynecological exam, and male exam.
- Obtain and interpret basic laboratory tests and results relative to GYN visit.
- Recognize common non-GYN deviations from normal and provide management or referral as appropriate.
- Recognize common GYN deviations from normal and provide management or referral as appropriate.
- Screen for contraindications and special consideration to contraceptive methods.
- Provide appropriate contraception to clients.
- Test and treat STDs and other infectious conditions.
- Provide care across the reproductive health lifespan, including menopause management.
- Provide care for patients of all gender identities.
- Construct an accurate assessment and plan based on history, exam, and lab findings.
- Provide patient with general and basic reproductive health maintenance, education and counseling.
- Assess and manage complications from surgical abortion, medication abortion, and vasectomy.
- Provide medication abortion services.
Successful completion (licensure or certification) of accredited Advanced Practice Clinician program.
Current California NP, PA, CNM or other APC license.
DEA license preferred
Current CPR certificate.
Reliable transportation or automobile transportation with a valid California Driver's License and insurance as determined by the requirements of each position. Reliable automobile required for float positions.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge/experience with EHR & EPM systems. Knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software desirable.
Typically zero to three years of Clinician experience providing reproductive health care services and evidenced clinical competency.
Prenatal experience strongly desired.
Must demonstrate proficiency in the following skills within six months of employment: Insertion and removal of all IUC devices and contraceptive implant insertion and removal, managing surgical complications and providing medication abortion services.
Pace Goal: 3 clients per hour. Meets or exceeds productivity goals.
Direct patient care experience, preferably in women’s health/reproductive health care. Experience in reproductive health, OB/GYN, primary care, or community health preferred.
Common sense and a commitment to excellent customer service and quality health care.
Commitment to working with low-income and culturally diverse clients with an emphasis on health equity and empowerment.
Good judgment to serve clients promptly, competently, and in a friendly manner. Treat complaints as opportunities to improve service.
Ability to understand and demonstrate, in all interactions, the importance of high quality care including accurate documenting and follow-up.
Ability to follow affiliate-wide protocols, policies, and procedures, and any center-specific policies and procedures.
Ability to maintain complete client confidentiality at all times.
Ability to be flexible and available to extend/change scheduled hours or location as needed to meet needs of the health center and clients. Willingness to work evening and Saturday hours.
Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to assist team members at all times. Handle communication problems with other staff and managers directly, constructively, and with sensitivity.
Maintain professional image through appropriate dress and manner. Treat other staff and clients with courtesy and respect at all times, under all circumstances.
Ability to work in a busy environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising accuracy, attention to detail, and courtesy and respect to clients and staff.
Ability to communicate effectively, make decisions, solve problems and function as part of a team.
Willingness to promote Planned Parenthood services and goals to clients, friends, and others in the community.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Knowledge of additional languages desirable.
