Director of Individual and Major Gifts

The Director of Individual and Major Gifts is responsible for raising operating income from individual supporters to ensure that PRCH annual and long term fundraising objectives are successfully met. The Director of Individual and Major Gifts implements activities to reach donors through major gift cultivation and solicitation, direct mail program design and implementation, and online communications.

Major Gifts

• Conducts research to identify potential major donors
• Initiates contacts with potential major gift donors, develops appropriate cultivation strategies and materials, arranges meetings, moves potential donors toward solicitation and closure, makes solicitations when appropriat
• Works with the President/CEO, Board members and others to make solicitations when appropriate
• Conducts major gifts donor-specific follow-up activities
• Manages ongoing relationships with major givers
• Tracks results and prepares progress and financial reports as requested

Annual Fund

• Develops strategies for acquisition, cultivation, retention, and stewardship of new and continuing individual donors
• Participates in determining annual fund goals
• Implements annual plan for acquisition, cultivation, retention, and stewardship activities consistent with goals
• Writes donor materials including solicitation letters, acknowledgement letters, invitations, brochures and newsletters
• Plans and implements innovative strategies for web-based and other electronic fundraising technologies to increase, cultivate and renew support in a dynamic and cost effective manner

Administration

• Develops and manages budget
• Work with the Development and Online Giving Manager in all work related to gift processing, gift acknowledgment, generating individual giving reports and assures effective use of Raiser’s Edge and Sphere for all fundraising activities
• Serves as staff liaison to the Board Development Committee, the PRCH Network Building Team and other external fundraising committees as necessary
• Serves as Team leader for the Rashbaum-Tiller event and other fundraising events as assigned
• Represents PRCH at various external functions as requested Perform other duties as assigned

• BA or BS degree as a minimum
• At least seven years of individual, including major gifts, fundraising
• Highly energetic professional with a record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in the $50,000-$100,000 range
• Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing with ability to target communications to specific interests of varied prospects and donors
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of completing assignments
• Successful experience in making cold calls and developing cultivation and solicitation strategies
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure
• Organizational, project and time management skills and attention to detail required
• Ability to produce written materials on tight deadlines and to juggle and execute multiple assignments simultaneously
• Proficient with Raiser’s Edge data base, computer literate with internet and search engine savvy
• Commitment to the mission and goals of PRCH
• Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and sense of humor
• Limited travel may be necessary Additional
