Position Responsibilities:
PPNorCal is currently seeking a part-time Lead Clinician, 32 hours per week, to serve our clients at the Fairfield Health Center. The Lead Clinician will function as part of a health center management team to provide care and clinical leadership under the standing orders and medical supervision of the Medical Director in accordance with PPFA and PPNorCal Medical Standards and Guidelines. This individual assumes a leadership role in the health center by assisting in the medical supervision and oversight of the center staff. Acts as primary medical quality assurance staff person at the designated health center. The Lead Clinician reports to the Center Director and VP of Medical Services and is an integral part of the Client Services department. This is a non-exempt, part-time position, working 32 hours per week including evenings and Saturdays as needed. Salary is DOE. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Supervisory duties: •Supervise utilization of medication in the center, including PharmPak, Emergency Medications, and Controlled Medications. •Oversee pharmaceutical waste disposal. •Participate in the laboratory training and oversight of RHS staff. •Act as on-site laboratory supervisor and supervise the laboratory training and ongoing proficiency of staff. •Conduct ongoing assessment and annual review for Advanced Practice Clinicians and RNs in the assigned center. Leadership duties: •Disseminate medical information and changes to the PPNorCal Medical Standards & Guidelines to other clinicians and staff. •Assist Center Management, Center Staff, Director of Quality Management, VP of Medical Services, and Medical Director with interpretation and evaluation of PPNorCal Medical Standards & Guidelines. •Meet center productivity goals and assist other center providers in meeting those goals. •Participate in orientation, training, and evaluation of other Advanced Practice Clinicians, RNs, and Physicians. •Precept Advanced Practice Clinician students. •Serve as a resource in areas of expertise for the affiliate. Present in-service programs as needed to health center staff. •Attend Medical Provider and Lead Clinician meetings. Quality Management duties: •Supervise the center’s quality management program including adherence to infection control and injury prevention program. •Participate in audit development as requested. •Provide and/or assist with audits and audit remediation plans. •Participate in the submission of incident reports along with other center management team members. •Conduct root cause analyses and remediation plans. Clinical duties: •Duties as described on the “Clinician Job Family” job description and the specific needs of the assigned center.

Qualifications:
•Successful completion (Licensure or certification) of accredited Advanced Practice Clinician program. •Current California NP, PA, CNM or other APC license. •Current CPR certificate. •DEA license preferred. •Knowledge/experience with EHR & EPM systems. Knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software preferred. •Two or more years’ experience in health care supervision/management including personnel management, program management and fiscal management preferred. Willingness to learn management skills required. •Leadership skills including vision, enthusiasm, common sense and a commitment to excellent customer service. •Commitment to working with low-income and culturally diverse clients with an emphasis on health equity and empowerment. •Use judgment to serve clients promptly, competently, and in a friendly manner. Treat complaints as opportunities to improve service. •Ability to understand and demonstrate, in all interactions, the importance of high quality care, including accurate charting, and follow-up. •Ability to maintain complete client confidentiality at all times. •Ability to be flexible and available to extend/change scheduled hours or location as needed to meet needs of the health center and our clients. Willingness to work evening and Saturday hours. •Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to assist team members at all times. Handle communication problems with other staff and managers directly, constructively, and with sensitivity. •Maintains professional image through appropriate dress and manner. Treat other staff and patients with courtesy and respect at all times, under all circumstances. •Ability to work in a busy environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising accuracy, attention to detail, and courtesy and respect to clients and staff. •Ability to communicate effectively, make decisions, solve prob­lems and function as a team leader. •Ability to think and act strategically. •Commitment to quality healthcare. •Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Knowledge of additional languages desirable.
