Temporary Development Assistant

Position Responsibilities:
This is a full-time temporary position that may start as early as June 1, 2017 ending November 15, 2017. This is an administrative support position that supports a fast moving development team. This position reports to the Director of Individual and Corporate Relations and requires outstanding attention to detail and accuracy. This person in this role will assist with gift acknowledgements, special events including a large annual awards dinner, and direct mail and online appeals. Other duties include: filing, gathering and maintaining donor and prospect records and mailing lists in Raiser’s Edge, developing and maintaining lists of donors and key constituents in major markets, researching prospective donors, proofreading, and assisting with administrative tasks related to foundation grant proposals and reports. This is a terrific opportunity to work with a successful and experienced team of development professionals for a respected organization working on cutting-edge issues, and to use your skills and creativity as the Center expands its fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have an associates degree and some office work experience. The position requires extraordinary attention to detail, outstanding time management, strong proofreading, critical thinking, written and oral communications, customer service, and organizational skills, experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar donor database, gift acknowledgements and tracking, and special event support are preferred. Must have a positive attitude and a sense of humor and be a team player who can work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Demonstrated interest in women’s issues and advocacy is a plus. Salary commensurate with experience. The Center offers excellent benefits including generous paid leave. Office located on the Red Metro Line in Dupont Circle.
