This session will offer updates and outcomes from the Sexual and Reproductive Health Workforce Project including progress on a set of core competencies, a national quality measure, and work aimed at building on existing IUD insertion training networks.

Complex Health Conditions Panel
Among the many types of patients primary care providers see are those with complex health needs, who require both clinical and social services and support from a range of providers and caregivers. This session will focus on the relationship between sexual and reproductive health and two “complex health conditions” (epilepsy and Crohn’s disease).

Multipurpose Technologies for STI, HIV, and Pregnancy Prevention
Multipurpose Prevention Technologies (MPTs) are products that combine protection against sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, and unintended pregnancy, and have the potential to radically change women’s lives around the world. This session will provide an overview of the MPT field, focusing on promising new developments including injectables, gels, and additional barrier methods.

Comparative Contraception: Reversible and Permanent Options
This session will focus on improving provider knowledge, competence and performance in practice to successfully integrate the shared decision making model, a patient-centered approach void of pre-existing method bias, in counseling methods for all FDA-approved permanent and reversible contraceptive options.

New Developments in Intrauterine Contraception
This didactic session will provide clinicians with detailed information about the four forms of intrauterine contraception and will refine providers’ ability to effectively counsel patients on all intrauterine contraception options currently available, and address misconceptions about IUDs.

Managing HPV: Increasing Understanding & Integration of Immunization
In this session, providers will improve skills to effectively counsel patients and parents on STI transmission and the consequences of long term exposure to HPV, as well as vaccine safety, myths, efficacy, and possible side effects for more informed decision-making about HPV vaccination.

Hands-on IUD Insertion Training
This hands-on IUD training will provide participants with the opportunity to apply and improve skills required for proper insertion of the devices. Participants will improve their competence and confidence in properly inserting IUDs, specifically new marketplace technologies. Space is limited.

Applying Cervical Cancer Screening Guidelines to Clinical Practice
This presentation fills an escalating gap in the understanding of cervical cancer screening guidelines, diagnostic, and prevention resources to provide clinicians with the expertise needed to maximize patient health outcomes as it relates to the complexities related to cervical cancer screening and subsequent management of those with discordant results.
